A return to former club Tottenham Hotspur in January is still a possibility for Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to a British media report.
The Athletic report that whilst Eriksen’s huge salary is currently an obstacle for a loan deal, the two clubs are in talks over the potential transfer of the Denmark international.
As things stand, there have been no cash offers made to Inter for Eriksen but Inter are hopeful of receiving an offer that will boost club coffers and help reduce the club’s wage bill.
Whilst Eriksen has been linked with many clubs, the report adds that the only club currently in for Eriksen is Spurs, who he left to join Inter a year ago on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
This season 28-year-old Eriksen has far from performed to expectations in an Inter shirt.
He has made 13 appearances across all competitions, mostly as a substitute, and he has failed to make any goal contributions at all.
He was an unused substitute for Antonio Conte’s side on Sunday as Inter dropped two points in a 2-2 draw at Roma.
