Tottenham Hotspur will attempt to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson before the end of the summer transfer window if Richarlison leaves, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs are looking to bolster their attack after Heung-min Son left, and are open to offers for the Brazilian forward.

However, he is keen to stay and fight for his place under new manager Thomas Frank, which could stop them from moving for the Chelsea star.

Jackson has a price tag of around £80 million, and his suitors have been unwilling to match it.

Newcastle United have also registered interest in the Senegal international, but remaining in London could appeal to him, which would give Tottenham a chance of signing him.

Spurs have been forced to reconsider their attacking plans for this summer after James Maddison suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

Frank may look to bolster his options in the final third with the England international set to be out for several months.

Richarlison has 24 more months to run on his current contract, and Spurs know this summer is their last chance to recoup some of the £50m they paid Everton to bring him to the club in July 2022.

The 28-year-old has missed 58 games for the Lilywhites since his arrival, with a series of injuries constantly beleaguering him.

Jackson could prove to be an upgrade as he has featured in 81 games since joining the Blues in 2023, weighing in with 30 goals and 12 assists.

Frank got the best out of Bryan Mbeumo, Ivan Toney and Yoane Wissa at Brentford and would fancy his chances of turning the Chelsea striker into a better finisher if a deal is done in the coming weeks.
