Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin has suffered an ACL injury and will miss the remainder of the season, a report has revealed.
Dragusin had emerged as a starter for Ange Postecoglou's injury-ravaged side in recent weeks. Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie are long-term absentees, while Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies are only recently back from their own lengthy layoffs.
Postecoglou's options at the back have been further limited by Dragusin's ACL injury. The Athletic expect the centre-back to miss six months at the very least after undergoing surgery, meaning his campaign is over.
Spurs have already reinforced at centre-back this winter, hijacking Wolverhampton Wanderers' move to sign Kevin Danso from Lens. The Austria international joined on an initial loan deal which will be turned permanent in the summer for a fee in the region of £20m.
Interest in Chelsea's fringe defender Axel Disasi has been reignited on deadline day, but despite a broad agreement being reached between the two clubs, the Frenchman has been reluctant to make the short trip across London. Instead, Disasi is expected to join Aston Villa, with manager Unai Emery working to convince him.
