Tottenham Hotspur may be able to recruit Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for a lower price this summer, according to Football Insider.

Spurs already have former Foxes star James Maddison on their books, with Ange Postecoglou's side taking full advantage of their relegation by poaching one of their brightest attacking stars.

And the North London outfit could come back to haunt Enzo Maresca's men again this summer with a potential move for Dewsbury-Hall, who has been exceptional for much of the 2023/24 campaign.

Getting himself on the scoresheet regularly and registering plenty of assists, the midfielder has proven why he should be playing at the top level of English football again, whether the Foxes succeed in their promotion quest at the end of the season or not.

At the moment, the Midlands club remain on course to secure a Premier League return at the first time of asking, but they have been in terrible form recently and the likes of Leeds United and Ipswich Town could end up capitalising on this.

But even if they do win promotion, their financial situation means they may need to cash in on some key players before the end of June, as Leicester look to remain within financial limits.

If they breach the limits again, they will face further charges and that isn't ideal for a side that's looking to progress in the coming years.

With this in mind, Maresca and his team may have to brace themselves for the 25-year-old's potential exit.

It has been reported that Leicester were seeking £40m or more for their star man during the January transfer window - but he could now be bought for a fee of between £30m and £40m - according to Football Insider.

If Spurs can get a £10m discount or anywhere close to that, this would be a huge boost for them if they are intent on recruiting Dewsbury-Hall and others in their quest to compete at the top end of the top flight.

The midfielder's contract doesn't expire until the summer of 2027, but Leicester's financial situation could potentially force their hand.

Even if Leicester are promoted, it seems as though there may be a chance that Dewsbury-Hall will leave.

That would be a real blow for the club, because the midfielder is only 25 and will only get better with more and more game time under his belt.

He has popped up at crucial times to win Leicester points, so he will be sorely missed if he does end up leaving the King Power Stadium during the next transfer window.

A player of his quality will have to be replaced if he does leave, but the Foxes will need to be smart and secure some shrewd deals if they are to find an adequate replacement, whilst also remaining within financial limits.

Others could be sold instead of him, but the Foxes could raise a lot of money from his sale, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him leave.
