Scott Parker has left his role as Tottenham Under 18s coach to take on a first-team position with newly-promoted Fulham.
The 37-year-old, who appeared for both clubs during his playing career, makes the switch a year after re-joining Spurs following his retirement as a player.
Speaking to the Cottagers’ official website, the former England international said: “I’m delighted to join the Club this week and look forward to working with Slaviša (Jokanovic) once again, as well as with the rest of the coaching staff and players.
“I would like to thank everyone at Tottenham Hotspur for their support and encouragement at the very start of my coaching career with the Under-18s throughout last season, in particular John McDermott for his guidance and ongoing support. I’m looking forward now to the next step up, coaching the First Team at Fulham.
“I have first-hand knowledge of the quality and ambition at the club since I was a player here, with tremendous work carried out by staff within the First Team set up and across all Academy age groups. I’m looking forward to getting started right away in preparation for the Premier League campaign.”
Tottenham tweeted the news of Parker’s exit on Wednesday and said: ‘The club can confirm that Scott Parker has left his role as our U18s Coach to take up a first team coaching position at Fulham. We wish him all the best for the future. Following Scott’s departure, Matt Wells will assume coaching responsibilities for our U18s.’
Parker made 63 appearances at White Hart Lane between 2011 and 2013 before going on to play 128 times and scoring six goals for Fulham.
