Torino are still keen to sign Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic in the January transfer window despite coach Simone Inzaghi’s resistance.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Torino want to sign a striker in January. That much is clear.
The Granata are going to have to sign a replacement for Duvan Zapata, who is out with a long-term knee injury,
Therefore, Torino’s aim is to sign a striker with a similar profile.
There are a few names on the Piedmontese club’s list. Everton’s Beto is the priority target. However, they are also looking at Napoli striker Giovanni Simeone, and AC Milan’s Luka Jovic.
Then, veteran Inter striker Marko Arnautovic is also a target.
In the case of Simeone, Napoli’s €15 million asking price would be a big obstacle for Torino.
Meanwhile, Arnautovic earns €3.5 million net per season. That would make it tough for the Granata to sign him.
However, that does not mean that the Granata have given up on the former Bologna and West Ham United striker.
Nor does the fact that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi prefers to keep the Austrian around.
Arnautovic showed his value with his goal and standout performance in the Coppa Italia against Udinese.
Therefore, Inzaghi is hardly in a rush to offload the 35-year-old.
However, Torino will still make an attempt to make the move happen.
