We’ve got another week of Major League Soccer under our belts, and with it, another week of bangers. Let’s take a look at some of the top goals from the week that was in MLS.
Debut goals are already sweet, but they don’t come much sweeter than picking out the bottom corner from nearly 30 yards out. 22-year-old Jake Davis did exactly that against Toronto this past weekend.
Evander tends to only score bangers since joining the Timbers for club-record fee last season, and he did that once again this past weekend in a Cascadia Cup showdown up north.
It was merely consolation in the end as St. Louis ran out 3-1 losers to RSL this weekend, but Indiana Vassilev showed some tricky footwork before sending a pinpoint strike into the bottom corner to give the visitors an early lead.
There wasn’t much attacking soccer on display at Audi Field Saturday evening, but it took just one moment of magic for Pedro Santos to snatch all three points for DC United with a bang.
What else can you say? First half stoppage time, pinpoint cross, Aníbal Godoy, bicycle kick. You won’t find many sweeter hits in MLS this season.
