There are two Women’s Super League fixtures on Sunday in addition to the Conti Cup final. This is what went down.

West Ham were punished for their profligacy in front of goal as some poor finishing saw them play out a scoreless draw with Brighton on Sunday.

The first half ended without any goals or major incidents, with West Ham having the better openings but they were let down by a lack of composure in the final third.

After the break, when they did carve out a clearer opening, Sophie Baggaley stepped up in a big way with a vital stop to deny them and when she was beaten by Emma Snerle, the goal was ruled out for a foul.

There were further frustrating moments as the Hammers stay second from bottom and Brighton remain eighth.

Toone hits landmark in Man Utd comeback

Scorers: Turner 57′, Toone 60′, 65′, Galton 90+1′; Snoeijs 10′

A history-making second half brace from Ella Toone helped Manchester United to a 4-1 comeback win over Everton at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday afternoon.

Everton got off to the perfect start with just 10 minutes played by striking for the opener when Katja Snoeijs pounced upon a defensive mix-up to round Mary Earps and tuck into the empty net.

A Millie Turner header which didn’t miss the target by much was as close as United came to an equaliser before the break but it would be Turner who did kickstart the comeback when her side turned the game on its head with two goals in three second half minutes.

She first levelled with a towering back post header from a corner before Ella Toone lashed home to put United in the driving seat after the visitors failed to clear their lines.

Not content there, the former Manchester City ace then grabbed her second to put the game out of Everton’s reach with a simple finish after Lisa Naalsund won the ball back in dangerous territory and allowing Toone to become the first United player to reach 50 goals for the club.

Leah Galton added a stoppage time fourth for a victory which sees United move back up to fourth, while the Toffees remain 10th.
