Fikayo Tomori believes Milan can ‘change our season’ with a Supercoppa Italiana victory against rivals Inter this evening, as Sergio Conceicao tweaks the tactical system.

It kicks off at the Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh at 19.00 GMT.

If they are still on level terms after 90 minutes, it will go straight to a penalty shoot-out, so there will be no extra time in this Final Four format.

Milan earned a last-gasp 2-1 victory over Inter in Serie A back in September, but that was under coach Paulo Fonseca and proved to be one of the rare highlights in his brief tenure.

“We must be strong in the duels and remember the last game we played against them is in the past, this is a one-off match and we need to do our best to win,” Tomori told Sport Mediaset.

New boss Conceicao made his debut with a 2-1 Supercoppa Italiana semi-final win over Juventus last week, but seems to have moved from a 4-3-3 formation to a 4-2-3-1 with the introduction of Yunus Musah.

Tomori maintains Milan can transform their campaign by picking up the first trophy of the 2024-25 season.

“Every victory and trophy is a reference point for changing a season. It hasn’t been the campaign we wanted so far, but this is an opportunity to win silverware and I believe a win could change our season,” said the defender.

“We changed coach, the new boss is doing well in the short space of time we’ve had with him so far. I am focused on helping the team and when he asks me to play, I will give my all to win.”
