The hosts were without usual scorer Alexandra Popp tonight and her absence proved to be a big loss as Wolfsburg couldn’t capitalise on any chances in the first half.

Instead, Bayern took the lead against the run of play when an unmarked Sydney Lohmann slotted the ball home after a set piece.

The match remained a tense affair in the second half and Wolfsburg eventually cracked Bayern’s tight-knit defence when Ewa Pajor’s header found the net with around 10 minutes left.

Despite late pushes, neither side could find a winner and the points are shared in this top-tier match.

With the result, Bayern Munich maintain their two-point lead over Wolfsburg with two matches to go.
