Grenzecho is reporting that Eupen may stick with the duo of Kirstoffer Andersen and Mario Kohnen till after the World Cup. Eupen parted ways with Bernd Storck at the weekend following a 2-1 defeat away to KV Mechelen. Storck was only appointed in the summer, but was relieved of his duties following four wins and 10 defeats in 14 matches. Eupen are currently just one point above the relegation zone.
The paper has reported that the decision makers at the Pandas want to take their time finding the right successor to Storck. It is unclear whether Anderson and Kohnen have a realistic chance at getting the job full time, should results improve.
Eupen have close ties with Qatar, being owned by a Qatari business and having a strong link to the Aspire Academy. One of the decision makers on the board is former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill, who began working at the club at the request of the Qatari owners.
