Liverpool’s final UCL league phase match against PSV has suddenly adopted an interesting narrative, with Liverpool opting to leave NINE key players at home along with the three injured first-teamers.
Those nine are Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz. Joe Gomez also misses out on the travelling squad despite returning to training on Tuesday, whilst Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones remain sidelined through injury.

Those decisions by Arne Slot not only bode well for Liverpool’s pursuit of the Premier League title, but also hands a golden opportunity to a long list of youngsters to put their name out there on the big stage of European football.
We’ve pinpointed three youngsters to keep an eye out tonight, who could all make their senior debuts for the club…
The 18-year-old defender has quickly become one of the most promising prospects in Liverpool’s academy since his move from West Ham United in August 2023. Nallo is naturally a centre-back with the ability to move the ball well with both feet, but mostly labelled as a left-footer.
He has also featured as a left-back occasionally in the youth setups at Anfield, although any minutes against PSV will more than likely come at the heart of the defence. With Wataru Endo likely to be deployed as a makeshift centre-back to start the game, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Nallo involved at some point.

Nallo has been named amongst Liverpool’s substitutes on a couple of occasions this season, but hopefully tonight he can take it one step further and make his debut!
With the likes of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz being left at home, and Cody Gakpo surely not set to play a full 90 minutes, you can certainly expect one of the young forwards to get a big shot tonight. Kone-Doherty could be right at the front of that queue, with the Irish 18-year-old being one of the most exciting talents at the club.

The left-winger has started all six of Liverpool’s UEFA Youth League matches this season, scoring two goals. Kone-Doherty has also represented Republic of Ireland at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 levels.
As an inverted left-winger, you can expect to see the teenager rotate with Gakpo against PSV.
The final name on our list is 18-year-old Kieran Morrison, who actually joined Liverpool’s academy from Manchester United as a 15-year-old.

Morrison has been an ever-present in Liverpool’s youth setup this season, featuring on 19 occasions so far this campaign and registering nine goal involvements.
The left-footed playmaker can play as a number ten and also as a right-winger and with Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa still building up match sharpness, Morrison could be in for his debut against PSV.
