The season is over, meaning we can finally sit back and relax and look back at the stats that Chelsea accumulated over the season to figure out what went well and what went badly, and what we need to do this summer.

One really good category they have on FBRef is “shot creating actions”, which tells you the players who are making the decisive moves for the team in the final third.

A glance at the best performers per 90 minutes played shows one outstanding leader – Callum Hudson-Odoi on 4.82 SCA per game. Following him is Hakim Ziyech on 4.34, and then Mason Mount in 4.22,

That trio did a lot of the heavy lifting creatively this season – they had 26 assists between them.

It’s interesting to see Kai Havertz – who played long spells as a false 9 – isn’t in the mix. You would have expected him to be in the best positions to create shots for his teammates.
