Thomas Tuchel wants Eder Militao, potentially because of similarities to this Chelsea defender | OneFootball

Reports in Spain this week have focused on Chelsea interest in Eder Militao – apparently spurred on by interest specifically from Thomas Tuchel in the defender.

Now we reckon these links are coming from Militao’s end, as he looks to get a new contract. A transfer to Chelsea seems very unlikely – it would be very expensive to prise him away from Los Blancos, and why would Militao want to go now, having just established himself as a key man for Carlo Ancelotti?

But just in theory, does the idea that Tuchel wants the Brazilian make sense? We think so. He has some fantastic, Antonio Rudiger-like qualities which would make him a great replacement for the out of contract German.

Just like Rudi, an aggressive, front foot defender, but with the recovery pace to be able to play that way. Whether he has the same “shi*house” side to him we seriously doubt, but he’s got plenty of time to work on that…
