Maghnes Akliouche (22) enjoyed a breakthrough with AS Monaco last season, making the step up from the academy to solidify his place in the Principality club’s plans.
The France youth interntional netted eight goals and register four assists in 31 appearances in all competitions, leading Les Monégasques back into the UEFA Champions League after a lenghty absence. However, his performances have also attracted interest.
Unlike Youssouf Fofana, Monaco want to keep Akliouche and CEO Thiago Scuro revealed that the player also wishes to remain at the club. “It is his decision and ours that the prioroty is to stay. We are in good conversations with him and his agent about a contract extension,” said Scuro, in an interview, attended by Get French Football News. Akliouche’s current deal runs until 2026.
He added, “Having a season with AS Monaco, playing in the Champions League, playing with the level of quality tha we have nowadays is also the right step for him. It’s under control this situation.”
