The Philadelphia Union add some leftback depth and sign Isaiah LeFlore from Houston Dynamo 2 in MLS Next Pro. LeFlore is a 21 year old leftback who has played all of his professional soccer at the U.S. lower division level. LeFlore played in 36 games for the Dynamo 2 in MLS Next Pro. During his time in Texas he scored 6 goals and had 6 assists to his name. Prior to Houston 2, LeFlore was signed to Sporting Kansas City II where he played for SKC’s 2nd team within the USL Championship. For SKC II he played in a total of 26 games, scoring 1 goal and recording 2 assists. The young American looks to be the perfect example of the modern day fullback, more attacking in nature.

With the Union losing Kai Wagner this offseason to free agency, they have a glaring hole at left-back. We’ve seen Philly play Nathan Harriel at left-back, but the natural right-back might be asked to step into a starting role on the right if Olivier Mbaizo is sold. Either way, fullback depth is needed for this Philly side. We know their ability to scout, especially young talent, is more than proven. But, I do have some concerns if I am a Union fan on who is going to be replacing the on-field quality and output that Wagner has given them for the last few years.
