FLW takes a look at those Luton players who may never wear the club's famous colours again after their relegation to League One.
Luton Town are preparing for life back in League One after suffering relegation from the Championship last season.
The Hatters endured a difficult return to the second tier and earned back-to-back relegations, after coming 18th in the Premier League in the previous campaign.
Matt Bloomfield was appointed in January as a replacement for Rob Edwards, but was unable to steer the club away from the bottom three.
The 41-year-old will now be tasked with bringing Luton straight back up from League One at the first attempt, but he may have to do so without some key players.
Here we look at the Hatters players who may depart Kenilworth Road this summer, and as such, may have played their final game in Luton Town colours...
Thelo Aasgaard only joined Luton in January, arriving from Wigan Athletic in a bid to improve the team’s chances of survival.
However, that didn’t work out, with the 23-year-old contributing two goals and one assist from 17 appearances in the Championship despite some impressive performances.
Whilst he was unable to help keep Luton in the division, he could still attract interest from elsewhere in the second tier, and he may be forced into pushing for a move in order to have the best chance at staying in contention for his national team, Norway, ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Following the end of the season, the forward cast doubt over his long-term future at Kenilworth Road when speaking to Norwegian outlet VG.
"It's hard to say [about my future],” he said. Everyone is on vacation now. What I can say is that the World Cup in a year is a big goal for me."
If a reasonable offer comes in, then it seems entirely possible that Aasgaard has already played his last game for the club.
Teden Mengi has become a key figure for the Hatters since arriving in the 2023 summer transfer window.
The defender did miss a chunk of the campaign due to injury, but was a regular in the team when available under Rob Edwards.
Given Luton’s relegation, he could be one of the players that attracts a number of suitors from the Championship.
The centre-back has proven himself at that level, and even has Premier League experience from his time with the Hatters.
So it wouldn’t be a surprise if Mengi has played his final game for the club following their relegation to League One.
Alfie Doughty has been a key figure for Luton since his arrival in the 2022 summer transfer window.
He was a standout part of the side when they gained promotion to the Premier League, and contributed an impressive two goals and eight assists from 37 appearances in the top flight in 2023/24.
Given these credentials, it would come as no surprise if concrete interest was shown in the 25-year-old this summer, who is understood to be earning a weekly wage of £27,500 with the Hatters, per Capology.
Speaking exclusively to FLW, Don Goodman even claimed that he expects Luton to cash in on the full-back in the transfer market.
“I’ll be honest with you, I was really surprised a Premier League club didn’t take a punt on him last summer after Luton got relegated from the Premier League,” he said.
“I rate him that highly. Clearly, way too good for League One, and I guess, really, he would want to test himself at the best level possible.
"So obviously it will take a good bid to prize him away because he only signed a new contract at the start of last season. So, Luton are in a slight position of strength, but you would imagine a really good bid for Alfie Doughty would be enough to tempt him and Luton to cash in."
Given his pedigree at both Championship and Premier League level, coupled with the fact he's now firmly entering the prime years of his career, Doughty will surely want to be playing at a higher level than League One football next season, with all due respect.
