Dani Olmo was the only big name that FC Barcelona added to their squad in the last summer transfer window. The former RB Leipzig midfielder has fit like a glove in Hansi Flick’s side, and his start to life at the Blaugrana club was quite excellent, even though his performances have experienced a decline recently.

Still, he remains an important part of the team for Hansi Flick and has also made a place for himself among the fans.

These fans got an opportunity to learn more about Olmo, as SPORT reports that he appeared in an interview in which he talked about different Barcelona players who have impressed him since his move last summer.

When asked to name the Barcelona player with whom he feels most connected and whom he likes to play the most, the Spaniard did not hesitate to name one of his colleagues in the midfield:

“You already know… Pedri. It’s just so easy to play with him. You see him on the pitch and… he makes everything simple with both feet. You know what I say? I get the ball, and I pass it to Pedri. That’s it.”

Olmo then identified the player who has surprised him the most:

“Well, the one who surprised me the most, though now you know him a bit better, was Casadó. I didn’t know him much because last year he didn’t participate as much, but this year he’s had continuity, and the level he’s showing is spectacular.”

From the youth sides, the Barcelona midfielder also picked out the cousins Toni and Guille Fernandez for particular praise:

“Yes, absolutely… A lot of quality, man, both of them. One left-footed, the other right-footed. And both on the same team, at Barça. A lot of quality at 16 years old. Watch out.”

Lastly, Olmo also highlighted one particular aspect that differentiated Barcelona from his former team, RB Leipzig:

“The mentality of the players is what makes the difference. Apart from being a big team, Barça is a team that wants to win everything every year. A draw or a loss is not acceptable—at Barça, it’s about winning, winning, and winning every match.”

There were not many surprises in Olmo’s interview, as Pedri has once again been showing his world class talent this season, while Casado has been the breakout star for Barcelona this season. Both these players, along with Olmo, can help their team turn its fortunes around in La Liga with their contributions from the midfield.
