Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was Arsenal’s record signing back in January but the Gunners aren’t done spending on him yet.
The Gabonese’s contract features a number of huge bonuses and, thanks to Football Leaks, we can share them with you.
On top of a ‘basic’ wage of £198,000-a-week (£10.3m-a-year), Aubameyang’s agents negotiated to squeeze every penny out of the Gunners.
Should the striker stay at the Emirates Stadium for the entirety of his contract, he will pocket a further £15m, which is to be paid in four instalments.
Contributing to 25 goals and assists in a season will see Aubameyang earn a further £300,000 sum. So far this season he’s managed 13 goals and assists despite joining in January and making just 13 appearances for the north London club.
A further £50,000 will be going Aubameyang’s way for every Premier League win he starts in. So far that has seen him earn an extra quarter of a million pounds.
There is also a so-called ‘Champions League’ bonus of £2.26m for next season, even though Arsenal have failed to qualify for the competition.
Not bad going.
