Questions have been asked about his future following the arrival of both Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, and it will be interesting to see how he responds.

Nicolas Jackson likely to be too expensive for AC Milan

Jackson endured a mixed season in which he scored ten Premier League goals, but he’s come under fire for two red cards against Newcastle and Flamengo.

The Senegal international put his team-mates in a difficult position on both occasions, and there’s a chance he could leave this summer.

Jackson was linked with Juventus and Napoli earlier this summer, with Chelsea said to want at least £50m for the 24-year-old.

AC Milan are the latest Italian side to express interest in Jackson, but The Guardian have reported he’s likely to be too expensive for the Italian giants.

Jackson is also attracting interest from Premier League clubs, but it’s thought he has no desire to leave Chelsea any time soon.

Chelsea to keep Premier League market open

Premier League clubs are likely to be the only teams who can afford Jackson, unless he decides to go to Saudi Arabia, which appears unlikely.

It’s been reported Chelsea are planning to keep the Premier League market open for Jackson, and he’s previously been linked with a move to Aston Villa.

The Senegalese faces genuine competition for the first time in his Chelsea career, but it’s thought the Blues are planning to use him and Delap as number nines, and Pedro in a variety of positions across the attack.

The situation is certainly one to watch over the coming weeks, and if Jackson does stay it will be interesting to see if the competition makes him raise his level.
