Michael Duff has enjoyed a positive enough start to his managerial spell at Oakwell and he will be striving to ensure that his side can deliver the goods and maintain their play-off spot.

Whilst we see how the rest of the campaign plays out, here, we take a look at some famous Barnsley fans who will be hoping that a Championship return is on the cards…

Dennis Priestley

Dennis Priestley kicks this list off, with the former darts player being born in nearby Mexborough.

Originally a coal merchant, Priestley’s darting career did not begin until he was 40, going on to win the PDC World Championships in 1994 and reaching other big finals during his time on the Oche.

A Barnsley fan, Priestley is also a follower of Manchester United.

Darren Gough

Sticking to the sporting world and former England cricketer Darren Gough is another Tyke who will be keeping a close eye on this League One finale.

Someone who has been spotted at Oakwell on several occasions, he also was a presenter on talkSPORT where he also spoke about his love for Barnsley Football Club.

Retiring from the professional game in 2008, he is currently the Managing Director of cricket for Yorkshire.
