Sunday wrapped up an entertaining slate of MLS fixtures with five matches scheduled.
Here is everything you need to know from the action.
A thumping volley deep in the second half lifted Sporting KC over FC Dallas 3-2, meaning one goal was enough for bottom-side San Jose Earthquakes to stun Chicago Fire.
The late kicks offs saw Colorado beat St. Louis 4-1, Portland stunned 10-man Nashville 4-1 and LA Galaxy held on to win 2-1 over Minnesota United for three vital points.
Additionally, Houston’s clash with LAFC was postponed due to weather conditions.
This volley was inch-perfect. And it will be one he’ll perhaps have a tough time replicating!
Also, here is a shoutout to the Minnesota United admin for this gem.
Things are finally turning positive for the Portland Timbers! Jonathan Rodriguez, Felipe Mora and Evander all have at least 10 goals, meaning they are the first MLS club to have three players hit that tally in a single season since 2022.
The same can be said for Colorado Rapids who finally won four straight home games for the first time in five years.
Looking at the table, LA Galaxy is third, Colorado fourth, and Portland Timbers continues to climb up to fifth. The Galaxy are notably in a three-way tie at the top with LAFC and Real Salt Lake.
Minnesota United are 10th but still within reach of the post season, FC Dallas are 11th and St. Louis, Sporting KC and San Jose round of the bottom of the West.
On the other side in the East, Nashville are eighth and Chicago, 13th.
There’s no mid-week MLS action, so we’ll see you again on Saturday for 14 games!
