The best striker in the world wants to join Liverpool

The best striker in the world now reportedly wants to join Liverpool and the Reds can still sign him.

It's already been a very exciting summer transfer window. The first proper window with Richard Hughes in charge has seen the Reds spend around £200m to secure the signatures of four players in Armin Pecsi, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong.

But this is just the beginning, Liverpool will not end their pursuits. They will simply put things on a bit of a pause for now.

At this moment in time, Liverpool will be focusing on outgoings. Hughes has to sell a number of players before the Reds have room for more arrivals in the squad.

So in the coming days and potentially weeks, Hughes will be looking to offload those players who see that they have no future left at Anfield.

This will include the likes of Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott most notably. But there will be other departures and potentially a lot of cash that can be made.

When all of that is done though. Liverpool are in a good position financially even before the sales. As per the Liverpool ECHO, they could still spend £200m more and be compliant with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

So there's room for more arrivals and there's room for the Reds to potentially make more blockbuster signings.

Undoubtedly, the biggest area where Liverpool will be looking to strengthen is in the attacking department. Slot wants a proper no.9 and Liverpool's ultimate target is Alexander Isak for the role.

He's a simply unstoppable player when at his very best, and probably one of the best strikers in Europe if not the world.

But don't just take our word for it. Anthony Gordon seems to be of the same notion. When asked by Sky Sports recently, whether there was any striker better than Isak in Europe, he said the following:

"No, I don't think so, I think everyone is in agreement with that at the minute. He's on absolute fire and when he's in that form, you just want to give him the ball."

We absolutely second that and if Isak is the best striker in Europe, then there's no one better than him anywhere else in the world either. So he's the best right now and Liverpool only want the very best.

What's even more encouraging is that the feeling is mutual. According to a report in the Daily Mail, Isak wants to join Liverpool and if it was up to him, he'd move to Anfield.

"What I was told last week was: if Isak could move to Liverpool, he would," The Mail's journalist, Lewis Steele wrote.

Obviously, things are a bit more complicated than that for Liverpool. Newcastle will be reluctant to sell.

But one thing is clear, the Reds have the financial might to secure a deal and Isak is open to a move to Anfield. But those two things together and it gives Liverpool a very good chance at bringing the Swede to the club this summer.

It's by no means a guarantee but the signs are good, and later on in the window the Reds could just pull the trigger to complete a deal for the best striker in the world.
