There is a sense that the transfer market is now heating up, with Liverpool looking to do some mad business right now.

Chelsea’s business is not going to be as mad as Liverpool, but they are signing new players and are looking to sign more new ones as well. Chelsea’s business would be described as smart by those inside the club, whereas Liverpool are out there dropping huge fees for players, just like Chelsea have done in the recent past.

Chelsea’s remaining business may well rest upon who they sell in the latter stages of the window, and striker Nicolas Jackson is one who may well be in the selling category. Fabrizio Romano had the latest on that one this morning.

But if Jackson goes to Manchester United as he is linked, there are a couple of pundits who are already writing that move off and saying it will fail!

Chelsea looking for a new defender

It looks likely now that Chelsea will sign another new defender this window, but it’s uncertain what kind of profile that will be.

Many believe they still need another out and out centre back, but there is also an argument for Marc Cucurella cover as well.

Chelsea in for Hato

Jorrel Hato of Ajax is a defender who can play as a left back so he can cover Cucurella, but he has also played as a centre back as well. He certainly fits the kind of profile that Chelsea like to recruit in recent months.

The Athletic report that among many possible remaining Chelsea transfer targets are Alejandro Garnacho and Morgan Rogers. They have also made an enquiry for Jorrel Hato.
