Sunderland have plenty of young stars who are likely to attract plenty of interest during the summer transfer window.

The chances of some of these players departing will surely be increased if the Black Cats don't win promotion at the end of this term, because that will weaken their position at the negotiating table.

Jobe Bellingham is one man who could potentially be on his way when the summer window comes along, with the fact his older brother is Jude likely to increase interest in him.

The 18-year-old has done well during his first campaign at the Stadium of Light, but it's also clear that he has plenty to learn.

With this in mind, he may not move on during the next window. Below, we take a look at five players who could make an exit.

Jack Clarke

Along with Bellingham, Clarke has generated a huge amount of interest in his signature this term.

This is no surprise considering how his time at the SoL has gone so far.

Since signing permanently from Tottenham Hotspur, the 23-year-old has been one of the first names on the teamsheet and has fully merited the amount of game time he's getting.

Southampton are one team thought to be keen on him, but even if the Saints don't manage to get a deal over the line for the player, others will be interested.

He will have two years left on his contract in the summer, so the next window seems like the perfect time to sell him if the Black Cats want to generate the highest possible fee for him.

Dennis Cirkin

Cirkin is unlucky because he's an excellent player who is clearly an asset at this level - and can also operate in two positions.

However, he probably isn't going to win much game time whilst Daniel Ballard and Luke O'Nien are fit - and he may not be able to start regularly at left-back either.

Leeds United in January - and could be a starter on the left-hand side for the long term.

Cirkin will be wanting to start most weeks and with that game time unlikely to be on offer on Wearside, he may move on.

Bradley Dack

Dack arrived in the summer following the expiration of his deal at Blackburn Rovers, signing a one-year deal with the club having the option to extend his contract by an extra year.

However, with the player recording just one goal and registering two assists in 14 appearances this term, he hasn't made much of an impact for the Black Cats.

With this in mind, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him released at the end of this term.

Dack seemed like a Tony Mowbray signing too - and the 60-year-old is no longer at the club.

Corry Evans

Evans has struggled majorly with injuries during his time at the Stadium of Light and with others ahead of him in the pecking order, Evans will surely be released at the end of the season.

Having an experienced central midfielder like Evans could be valuable for the Wearside club, but the Black Cats' future boss in the summer will probably want to find an alternative.

Bass is currently on loan at AFC Wimbledon - and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him seal a permanent exit in the summer.

With Anthony Patterson and Nathan Bishop already at the club, the chances of Bass winning much game time next term are slim.

And even if Patterson or Bishop move on, you feel a replacement is likely to come in.
