Lincoln City will be hoping that their impressive January window will aid them in a potential push up the League One table in the second part of the season.

The Imps added to their ranks last month, welcoming three new players to the LNER Stadium, with former midfielder Conor McGrandles rejoining the club on loan from Charlton Athletic on Deadline Day having previously spent two years in Lincolnshire.

The club also confirmed yesterday that Zak Bradshaw, signed from Championship side Ipswich Town during the latest window, would spend the remainder of the season on loan at Dundalk.

Michael Skubala's side also recalled 19-year-old Freddie Draper from his loan spell with Walsall at the start of January, having scored 10 times during his time with the League Two side.

Some excellent business during the January window could potentially aid an optimistic late push for the promotion places.

Looking ahead to the summer, however, the club will have some decisions to make as Lincoln are currently set to lose three players once their contracts expire with the club.

1 Lasse Sorensen

Wing-back Lasse Sorensen spent five years at Stoke City before joining the Imps on a three-year deal in the summer of 2021.

The versatile Dane has proved a useful asset throughout his time in Lincolnshire, becoming a mainstay in the Imps line-up this season.

The 24-year-old has played five different positions this season. Predominantly deployed on the right-hand side of midfield, Sorensen has operated down the entirety of the right-hand side, including appearances in central midfield and even as a center forward for their recent defeat to Northampton Town.

A player of Sorenson's quality coupled with his ability to adapt to several positions is an attractive asset for the club to keep hold of - an option many fully expect to be explored before his contract is up in the summer. He is also young, and can only improve.

2 Daniel Mandroiu

Another versatile player who is out of contract next summer is Daniel Mandroiu. The Irishman can pose a threat as an attacking midfielder, central midfielder, or as a winger on either flank.

He joined the club in 2022 from Shamrock Rovers, featuring 29 times in his debut season and providing 11 goal contributions.

And his good from has continued into this season, although discipline has been a slight issue for the 25-year-old.

However, judging by his current form, Mandriou is another who should be offered a new contract at some point over the coming months, as he continues to be a key cog to Lincoln City's attacking threat.

3 Lewis Montsma

Lewis Montsma is currently battling a serious knee injury.

During an encounter against Fleetwood Town last term, the 25-year-old ruptured his ACL and sustained other damage to his knee as well. In May, the club confirmed that Montsma would undergo an operation and at least 12 months of rehabilitation.

His contract expires in the summer, and he is highly unlikely to have added to his 83 Lincoln appearances by then but his experience and obvious qualities may play a huge factor in the decision over his future at the LNER Stadium.
