With the 2025/26 League One campaign underway, fans have away days on their calendars.
The Sky Bet League One campaign is already underway and fans are naturally looking ahead to away days.
Cardiff City, Plymouth Argyle, and Luton Town all join the division following relegation, with champions Doncaster Rovers coming up from the fourth tier alongside Bradford City, Port Vale, and AFC Wimbledon.
Last year, Birmingham City and Wrexham achieved automatic promotion, while Charlton Athletic followed them up in the play-offs out of the third tier. Dropping out of the division were Shrewsbury Town, Bristol Rovers, Cambridge United and Crawley Town.
Given the movement in and out of the division, we asked AI tool ChatGPT to rank the current 12 worst away days in League One.
Northampton Town is first on the list of the worst places for a League One away day according to AI. The club's Sixfields Stadium has recently had an upgrade, but that did not stop the chatbot labeling its away end as "bland".
Kevin Nolan saw the Cobblers to safety last season, with their ground now described as having "sparse amenities" in an "industrial setting".
Leyton Orient reached the play-off final last term, narrowly losing to Charlton in an all-London clash at Wembley Stadium.
Richie Wellens oversaw some great days at Brisbane Road, with the near-upset of Manchester City in the FA Cup standing out. However, because of what AI described as a "cramped away terrace" with "logistical headaches" it ranked as the eleventh-worst venue for an away day in the division.
Bradford returned to the third division after a dramatic finish to the 2024/25 term, but AI does not reflect fondly on their historic Valley Parade home.
The atmosphere can often be "flat" according to ChatGPT, with very little in the way of pre-match activities and an often long journey to West Yorkshire not positive marks in the column for the ground.
Exeter City's St. James Park is not the easiest ground to get to for traveling fans, especially if they are making the long journey to the south-west corner of England by public transport.
It has been ranked among the worst in League One for that reason, as well as what AI labeled as a "pretty basic" look to the stadium.
Bolton Wanderers have one of the biggest stadiums in League One this season, with Cardiff's Wales international-hosting ground also standing above much of the remainder of the division.
But, that did not stop AI describing the away trip to the Toughsheet Community Stadium as one of the worst because of a lack of an exciting atmosphere and what it called a "gloomy" town.
Mansfield Town avoided relegation without too much of a concern on their return to League One. Nigel Clough's side did struggle towards the end of the campaign, but their pre-Christmas form had given them enough of a buffer from the league's strugglers.
AI said the Stags have a "weak matchday atmosphere", ranking the One Call Stadium as a poor place for an away day because of that and the "industrial estate location" of the ground.
The LNER Stadium, known by home fans as Sincil Bank, has been ranked poorly because of "subpar" away facilities. It is the home of Lincoln City, who have become mainstays in League One despite flirting with the play-off places and potential promotion on occasion over recent seasons.
Packed into the Stacey West Stand, away fans can be in for an "underwhelming trip" according to AI.
Reading are under new ownership this summer after troubles with their former chairman threatened to drag the club into unrepairable damage.
Former Wycombe owner Rob Couhig has now taken over, and has injected energy into the club with signings like Lincoln City captain Paudie O'Connor signaling intent for a promotion push in the 2025/26 season.
Howevever, ChatGPT has ranked their Select Car Leasing Stadium as the second worst in League One for an away day. It called the ground "remote" and "soulless", noting that there are only a few pubs and transport links nearby.
Stevenage have entered a new era as of late, with Alex Revell taking the reins from Steve Evans and steadying the ship in his debut season as manager of the club.
The Boro boss now has a big job on his hands to build on the relative success of the 2024/25 term, while their ground has been described as having "low energy" and "minimal fan vibe" by AI.
Burton Albion managed a great escape last term, with Gary Bowyer seeing the team to safety in spite of a torrid start to the campaign under their previous manager.
AI complimented the Brewers' pies and staff members, but included the Pirelli Stadium on its list because of the "uninspiring setting".
