The Netherlands have been dealt another blow in their preparations for EURO 2024 with Teun Koopmeiners forced to withdraw due to injury.
The Atalanta midfielder was injured during the warm-up of Monday’s 4-0 friendly victory over Iceland with a muscular injury, and will now miss the upcoming tournament.
It’s a second blow in as many days for Oranje coach Ronald Koeman after Frenkie de Jong was also ruled out of the Euros due to injury.
Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen – who spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund – has been drafted into the squad as a replacement.
