The Red Devils completed the signing of Rasmus Hojlund over the weekend as they took their total summer signings to three with Mason Mount and Andre Onana the other two coming in.

Jonny Evans could also be offered a contract for the season but a decision is yet to be made on that as Man Utd continue to assess his performance in training.

Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag will now concentrate on allowing a number of squad players to move on as the Red Devils look to raise some money from sales.

Donny van de Beek, Fred, Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay are among the players being linked with moves away from the club.

As well as outgoings, Ten Hag is hopeful that Man Utd can bring in a new midfielder and a new centre-back before the transfer window closes in less than a month.

Widespread reports have insisted that Fiorentina’s Amrabat is their top target in midfield with previous claims that the Morocco international had given the green light over a potential move.

But now Spanish publication Sport claims Amrabat has ‘rejected’ Man Utd to sign for Atletico Madrid with Liverpool and Barcelona mentioned as other interested parties.

The 26-year-old has ‘made his intentions for the next season clear’ with Amrabat ‘wanting to play’ for Atletico with Diego Simeone a major pull.

He believes he can achieve ‘great growth as a footballer’ under the Atletico boss with Fiorentina asking for €40m for the former Club Brugge man.

It would represent a ‘great financial effort’ for the La Liga side but Simeone ‘wants them to sign him because he considers that he is the ideal candidate to replace [Geoffrey] Kondogbia’.

Amrabat has given Atletico the ‘ok’ after telling Fiorentina that he ‘wants to leave this summer’ and Simeone looks ‘very favorably on the footballer’.

Sport add: ‘The Moroccan has received other offers from big European clubs but has rejected to play under the command of the Argentine coach.’

If this report is accurate then Man Utd will turn to alternative options with Leeds’ Tyler Adams – who is wanted by Chelsea – and Everton’s Amadou Onana potential options.

The Daily Mail claim that Man Utd have ‘held discussions about the merits of Everton’s Amadou Onana and Leeds United’s Tyler Adams but those talks have not progressed.’
