Erik ten Hag laid out his demands at Manchester United during his first week of pre-season training as he commences the latest rebuild at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag met the squad for the first time on Monday and has outlined his plans and demands for the coming campaign, as the Red Devils look to bounce back from a disappointing Premier League campaign.

The former Ajax boss is keen to bring an attacking brand of football back to the club next season and the Sun are reporting that Ten Hag has taken firm action in his bid to implement more attractive football, including subbing off players in training who do not play forward passes.

Among his other objectives also include removing of dressing room divides and cliques, whilst he has called for improved fitness and body language from his players after a miserable season – which included a record low Premier League points total – in 2021/22.

Ten Hag will also provide the club’s best young talents with a chance to impress and insists that past performances and reputation will count for little, with training performances his sole consideration when selecting his team.

Alejandro Garnacho and Hannibal Mejbri are among two of the names who will hope for a first-team breakthrough with the former having starred during the Red Devils FA Youth Cup success last season.

New arrivals are also expected with the club closing in on deals to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia and Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez.
