Lommel’s teenage Hungarian star Zalan Vancsa has been rewarded with for his fine form. The Hungarian has been listed as a reserve for his nation as part of the overall squad for Euro 2024. This is certainly an achievement for a player who has spent this season in the Belgian second tier, although Lommel now face Kortrijk over two legs to try and gain promotion to the top flight.

Vancsa has been one of the top players in the Belgian second tier and looks to have a very bright future. The 19-year-old has scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 34 games this season. Lommel, part of the City Group, signed the promising youngster from MTK Budapest in the summer of 2022. He cost the side around €3m. He has been a regular at youth level for the Hungarian national team, while also winning a handful of caps for the full senior side. He will have to wait to see if there is an injury in the main selection that could see him called-up for the tournament in Germany .
