According to the club’s official site, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has some mixed news when it comes to Paul Pogba.
The French international was not in the squad that faced West Bromwich Albion at the weekend. It was confirmed pre-match that he had picked up a knock while on national duty.
As things stand, it is still uncertain if he will feature against Istanbul Basaksehir on Tuesday night.
“I hope Paul is going to be available.”
While the United boss hopes his midfield star will make it, he will wait until late in the morning to make a decision.
“We’ll make a decision on that in the morning.”
On a positive note, Pogba is now back in training. However, while there is progress, he is still experiencing some discomfort and is in pain. It would be fair to assume it is touch and go when it comes to playing him.
Solskjaer, meanwhile, hopes for positive news when it comes to Luke Shaw. He is hopeful that the left-back will return in four weeks and not six as initially feared.
“Hopefully, near four but more likely close to six.”
However, he confirmed that the club will not risk the player and will not rush him back unnecessarily.
Solskjaer also refused to confirm who will start in goal for United against Basaksehir. Dean Henderson started the away game while David de Gea is the undisputed number one.
Henderson had recently been linked with a switch to Celtic in order to garner more game time.
