Tammy Abraham is reportedly making rapid progress in the final stages of his recovery from the torn ACL and looks to make his return to the pitch in the coming weeks.
The Englishman’s return happens to coincide with Sardar Azmoun’s latest injury – it is yet unknown how long the Iranian striker will be out for following a hamstring injury he picked up on international duty.
According to Corriere della Sera, Roma fear Azmoun may be out for around a month which would be a great problem for Daniele De Rossi who would be left without a valid alternative to Romelu Lukaku.
Thus, Abraham is intent on making this moment his opportunity for a comeback.
The ex-Chelsea man will be called up for Roma’s upcoming match with Lecce, although he’s unlikely to feature – the idea is to have him back on the pitch and playing a few minutes here and there by mid-April, when Roma are scheduled to face Milan in the Europa League quarterfinals.
