Bayern Munich have announced that the highly talented teenager Tarek Buchmann has signed a first professional contract with the club that will run until 2026.
The 18-year-old joined Bayern from Bavarian neighbours Augsburg in 2019 while playing at the under-16 level. He has since gone on to work his way through the Bayern youth teams making 39 appearances throughout his time for Die Rekordmeister’s academy.
However, this season, Buchmann has been able to establish himself as a regular despite suffering from a variety of injuries. In all competitions this season the centre-back has featured 19 times, scoring one goal and collecting one assist.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen commented on the contract signing: “We’re delighted to bring a promising young player from our FC Bayern Campus in Tarek Buchmann closer to our first team. He’s developed very well in a sporting sense in recent years and is now getting the chance to take the next step with us.”
Buchmann added: “It’s a big honour for me to sign my first professional contract at FC Bayern. I know what a privilege it is to play for this club. The club has always supported and promoted me in a top way. I feel great trust.”
The 18-year-old would finish by mentioning his aims at the club: “At the same time, I see it as my first duty to continue working hard on myself. I want to take my chance in every training session and game in order to have a successful journey together with FC Bayern.”
It is a memorable moment for a player that those at Bayern hold in the highest regard and this has also been seen on an international level. Buchmann has been able to work his way up the youth ranks with the German national side making 13 appearances from the under-16 level to the under-18 level.
