Bayern Munich remain interested in a deal to sign Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
Tah will leave Bayer Leverkusen when his contract expires in the summer and the defender’s availability on a free transfer has alerted Europe’s top clubs. Bayern failed with a bid to sign Tah last summer but retain interest in signing the 29-year-old.
Barcelona are believed to be frontrunners to land the Germany international, though no decision on the player’s future has been made.
Sky Germany are reporting that there are ‘other clubs’ also pursuing Tah, likely to include Inter Milan, Juventus and Premier League sides.
Bayern Munich have made the signing of a centre-back a priority for the summer and are also admirers of Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen.
However, the club’s ability to meet Huijsen’s £50m release clause will be dependent on sales. Kim Min-jae has been linked with a potential exit from the Allianz Arena with Chelsea and Newcastle United monitoring his situation.
Bayern have other defender’s on their shortlist but the availability of Tah on a free transfer is of huge appeal.
The Bundesliga leaders’ main focus for the summer is Tah’s Leverkusen teammate, Florian Wirtz. However, Wirtz has a release clause of €125m in his contract at the BayArena.
