Bayern have lost just twice all season, whilst taking vital points off Leverkusen in their two draws. It's going to take a spectacular collapse for them to let Bayer back in between now and the end of the season - the draw with Leipzig, a game in which they came from 2-0 down to lead before conceding late on, should only prolong the wait rather than derail their title push.

They are now nine points clear of Leverkusen, with the Werkself playing on Sunday at Freiburg. Anything other than a win for Xabi Alonso's men will see Bayern crowned Bundesliga champions for a record 33rd time - and Thomas Müller's last as he prepares to bid farewell at the end of the campaign. Three points for Leverkusen will mean Bayern can secure their status as champions with a draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 33.

Even despite the lack of mathematical confirmation, Bayern have effectively got the job done given their sizeable advantage in terms of goal difference (+61 compared to Leverkusen's +31). It will take an incredible collapse from Bayern's perspective to end the season anywhere other than the table's summit.

Leverkusen simply must win all three of their remaining games against teams who also still have plenty to play for. And even then, the aformentioned goal difference means that will likely not be enough.

While the Meisterschale is set to change hands, Leverkusen can still be proud of their efforts this term, and they will always have last season's record-breaking exploits to look back on.
