After joining The Pride, Jakobsson said “It was time for me to find another place to play. I talked with many clubs, but I heard about London City’s plans from the coach and I could see that this is a super-interesting project and a great opportunity to make something special together as a group. I have always been in for challenges and I feel that this is a cool challenge and the perfect opportunity to be part of this project.
“I talked a little bit with Kosovare [Asllani] and she told me that Michele Kang’s plans were very interesting. What Michele wants to achieve with this team, and in women’s soccer more generally, is great and she’s doing really positive things for women in sport.
“I’ve been through the whole process of women’s football and I can see that she is making a positive impact. My decision to come here was not just about the football part – it’s also that we’re trying to do great things for women’s sport.”
