Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah signs for Nottingham Forest
WSL2 team Nottingham Forest have added an experienced second division winger to their team with Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah joining from the London City Lionesses.
Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah played a key role in the Lionesses promotion to the WSL last season.
29-year-old Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah signed for the London City Lionesses in 2023/24.
She played for the Lionesses for two seasons and became a fan favourite in no time at all.
The forward scored 14 goals in 37 appearances for the newly promoted club including a crucial finish last year.
When her team faced off against Birmingham on the final day of last season promotion was on the line. With just a draw needed, Boye-Hlorkah scored the all important second goal for the Lionesses to earn promotion.
After two years in London, Boye-Hlorkah has decided that its time for a change.
Nottingham Forest have signed the experienced WSL winger after finally gaining promotion to the second division at the seventh attempt.
As one of the new teams in WSL2, Nottingham Forest are sure to be long-shots with betting sites to gain back to back promotions.
“I’m excited to join the Club and play with this group of players.” Boye-Hlorkah said.
“The team had an incredible season last year – history is being created here and I’m grateful that I can be a part of continuing to build something special at the Club.”
Although she was born in England, Boye-Hlorkah plays for the Ghana national team.
Nottingham Forest Women head coach, Carly Davies said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Chantelle to the Club. Having worked with Chaney previously I know the quality, experience and versatility she brings.
“Chaney is a player with proven quality at the highest level having previously played for Everton, Aston Villa and reigning WSL2 champions London City Lionesses. She will bring a wealth of knowledge and attacking threat to our team.
“Her ability to influence games, both with and without the ball, will be a huge asset as we continue to push for success. We’re excited to see her in the Garibaldi Red.”
