The 24-year-old has impressed for the Imps in the third tier since joining from Scottish side St Mirren in January 2023, and his performances have attracted transfer interest from elsewhere in the EFL.

Wigan Athletic and Swansea City have made offers for the midfielder, while Bolton Wanderers and Oxford United have also enquired about his availability, as per Ben Jacobs via X.

Erhahon was left out of Michael Skubala's squad that faced Grimsby Town in a pre-season friendly last night, as he has made the club aware that he wishes to leave LNER Stadium this summer.

The former Scotland under-21 international could get the chance to test himself at Championship level next season if Lincoln can agree a deal with either Swansea or Oxford in the coming weeks.

Erhahon could get Championship opportunity

Erhahon has informed Lincoln that he wants to leave the club this summer amid interest from the second tier, as he will no doubt feel that he has proven himself in League One over the last two-and-a-half years.

The Imps' Director of Football, Jez George, stated that he expected to receive offers for Erhahon last summer, as per the BBC, so it would not come as a huge surprise if he moved on during the current transfer window now that he has spent another season in League One.

"I don't think Championship clubs would be doing their jobs properly if there wasn't interest," George said in May 2024. He also went on to explain that he would be "amazed" if Lincoln did not receive a club-record fee for the midfielder.

Championship outfit Swansea reportedly had a bid worth £600,000 rejected by Lincoln earlier this summer, but the Imps were braced for further offers, and the Swans have now returned with another approach.

In the aftermath of Swansea's initial offer for Erhahon being rejected, Jez George once again spoke about the speculation surrounding the midfielder in an interview with the BBC, insisting that Lincoln would not accept anything less than their unspecified valuation.

"Ethan's agent is very aware of the number and clubs are very aware of the number and it's up to clubs to meet that valuation," George said.

"We do expect to get offers because Ethan is an outstanding player with outstanding attributes and outstanding potential.

"It would surprise me if there wasn't a club in the Championship that doesn't see his potential."

Swansea and Oxford have advantage in Erhahon race

Given that Lincoln have apparently been very open with interested clubs about the price-tag they have set for Erhahon, there is every chance that Wigan and Swansea's offers are at least in the region of what the Imps are demanding for the player.

If Bolton and Oxford also make bids for the 24-year-old that meet Lincoln's valuation, then he will have a decision to make regarding his future.

Swansea and Oxford will likely have the upper hand over Wigan and Bolton in negotiations if it reaches that stage, with the allure of Championship football bound to be a significant factor in Erhahon's decision-making process, especially as he could well have ambitions of making the Scotland squad at senior level.
