Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr. are at a stalemate over the player’s contract renewal negotiations, and the signs do not seem promising as it stands.
The Brazilian winger is demanding a salary that Real Madrid do not see fit, especially given his form over the past year. Vinicius and his entourage, however, refuse to budge on their demands.
With his contract running out in 2027, there is a chance the player can pressurise the club to leave as a free agent should his requirements not be met, especially with interest growing from Saudi Arabia.
Speaking to the media in a recent interview, football superagent Rafaela Pimenta, who represents the likes of Erling Haaland, was asked his two cents about Vinicius Jr.’s situation and his view of it as an agent.
While she did err on the side of caution given that he does not represent the Brazilian star, Pimenta did have a very clear stance on the player not leaving for free.
“I tell you how I see it, without wanting to give advice to someone I don’t know,” she began.
“A player should not leave a club for free, it seems to me a little low level,” Pimenta added.

The superagent then elaborated that while Vinicius has indeed given no signs of going down that path at this point, he should not even consider it down the road.
“He hasn’t done it, I hope he doesn’t do it because I think the players who do it, most of the time it’s for economic interests and put themselves in a difficult situation.”
The agent was then asked what she would do had she been Vinicius’ representative, to which she said,
“If I were Vinicius’ agent, I would try until the last moment to reach an agreement, make a renewal.”
“If he intends to leave, organise this exit with class, with elegance. It’s like a divorce, you can do it in two ways. If you make an ugly divorce, everyone pays, your family, your children and your memories,” Pimenta added.
“To preserve all this, there is always the possibility of a balance,” she concluded strongly.
Finally, Pimenta spoke on what Vinicius must do if he does indeed intend to leave the club soon, to which he stuck to his ideology of handling the situation with class.
“An intelligent renewal, with an exit clause. For me, it’s the best.”
