The agent of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has on Monday spoken out on his client’s future.
And the news will no doubt be met with widespread approval on the part of those of a Barca persuasion.
This comes amid confirmation that the plan of club and player alike is to imminently extend their commitment to one another.
Youngster Lamine has of course continued to build on his reputation as world football’s standout up-and-coming talent across the season to date.
One of the first names on the team sheet of new Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, the 17-year-old has racked up 21 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with six goals and a team-leading 12 assists in the process.
During an appearance in front of the media on Monday evening, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his client’s future in Catalunya’s capital was put to the aforementioned Jorge Mendes once more.
And, in his response, super agent Mendes assured that Lamine’s plan is to pen a new long-term contract upon turning 18 next year:
“Yes, of course Lamine Yamal will sign a new deal at Barcelona. It will happen.”
