According to Zeitungsverlag Waiblingen, Bundesliga side Stuttgart have set Hamburg a deadline of today to accept their offer of €5m plus bonuses for Josha Vagnoman (21).

The 2. Bundesliga want a fee close to €6m after rejecting Stuttgart’s opening offer of around €4m. HSV sporting director Jonas Boldt has the backing from the supervisory board to not accept any offers lower than their valuation.

However, before signing further players, it’s reported that HSV would need to sell first.

Hamburg remain adamant that they will not accept any less for Vagnoman but with Stuttgart not willing to go any higher, at the moment, VfB may be forced to turn their attentions elsewhere as they look to strengthen their defence.

The German youth international missed a chunk of last season through injury but has played 72 games in all competitions for Hamburg, operating in both defence and midfield.

Konstantinos Mavropanos (24) and Hiroki Ito (23) on permanent deals after successful loan spells.
