Feyenoord are close to selling Julián Carranza to Leicester City. The Rotterdam club have agreed with the English side for a loan with an option to buy.
As Martijn Krabbendam explains for VI, Carranza has now become the third striker in manager Robin van Persie’s squad, behind Ayase Ueda and newcomer Casper Tengstedt. Feyenoord would have preferred to sell him this summer, although a loan to a foreign club was also a viable option.
Carranza’s Rotterdam adventure appears to be limited to a single season. In the summer of 2024, the Argentinian striker joined Feyenoord from Philadelphia Union.
He played 30 matches, scoring five times. His most memorable goal was undoubtedly against AC Milan at San Siro, which earned Feyenoord a 1-1 draw, sending them to the round of 16 of the Champions League.
