L’Équipe report that Strasbourg are closing in on the signing of Japanese midfielder Yuito Suzuki, on a loan deal with an option to buy from Shimizu S-Pulse.
The Japanese youth international, who was also being targeted by La Liga outfit Mallorca, will go straight into the Alsatians’ first team. He has six goals and four assists for the now-second-tier outfit, in just under a century of appearances in all competitions.
The 21-year-old is the latest piece of business in an eventful transfer window so far for the struggling outfit, who are looking to overturn their current woes – just two wins all season – and have already brought in full-backs Frédéric Guilbert and Eduard Sobol. Morgan Sanson is also due to join imminently, with the Aston Villa man arriving on a loan deal – this time without an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
