Strasbourg near agreement for Rayane Messi

According to Mohamed Toubache-Ter and later confirmed by Le Parisien, RC Strasbourg Alsace are close to signing Rayane Messi (17) from Dijon FCO. Le Parisien reports that the two clubs have almost agreed on a €1.2 million transfer (including bonuses) for the highly rated prospect.

Messi had been a transfer target for Olympique de Marseille earlier in the year. However, Les Phocéens were reportedly put off by a €4 million asking price for a young player who has only made four professional appearances, and the club eventually ended their pursuit in June after being put off by Dijon’s demands.

However, Strasbourg have managed to secure an impressive prospect at far below that previously mentioned fee. Since being bought by BlueCo. (who also own Chelsea FC) Le Racing have begun to focus on bringing in players with high potential with a view of providing them ample time to develop.
