AS Saint-Étienne’s relegation back to Ligue 2 could open the door for departures for some of their most highly-rated assets, including Zuriko Davitashvili (24).

Davitashvili only joined Les Verts at the start of the season after shining with Girondins de Bordeaux in Ligue 2 the previous season. He will be reticent to make the drop back down to Ligue 2, even if ASSE are highly tipped to bounce back to the top-flight, given the wealth of their owners.

There could be an option for him to remain in France. RC Strasbourg Alsace will be looking to strengthen their squad this summer. Next season, Liam Rosenior’s side could be playing UEFA Europa Conference League football, should Paris Saint-Germain beat Stade de Reims in the Coupe de France final.

According to Mohamed Toubache-Ter, Davitashvili is a serious option for Strasbourg, who could be set to lose one of their wingers, Dilane Bakwa. The Frenchman is the subject of interest from Eintracht Frankfurt.
