Sint-Truiden have confirmed that Eric Bocat is set to sign for Stoke City. The French left-back leaves the club after two years and, unlike some of the other departures from the club this summer, was given a positive exit statement from the clubs website. The 24-year-old was going into the final year of his contract and has been one of the sides best players since he arrived. The fee is believed to be around €1.2m, a relative bargain for the English side.

Bocat, a left-back by trade, moved to Sint-Truiden from Mouscron in 2022 on a free transfer. He quickly established himself as the sides left-midfielder, given that they opted for a back three. Under two successive coaches he showed his ability to transition from a defensive style into an offensive style seamlessly. He was by far one of the sides most consistent performers and certainly an unsung hero from the side successful 2023/2024 campaign.
