Plenty of Belgian clubs will have been interested to see that Eupen will not be renewing the contracts of Stef Peeters and Smail Prevljak. Both were unlikely to sign new deals with the club after they narrowly avoided relegation, despite losing 7-0 on the final day against Club Brugge. Peeters was always likely to leave, and he will certainly be missed by the club. The former Cercle Brugge midfielder led the side in goals (seven) and assists (seven). At the age of 31, he certainly still has plenty to offer and other Pro League clubs will definitely come calling.
Prevljak has had a poor seasons by his standards. The 27-year-old Bosnian international only managed six goals this season, three less than last year. In 2020/2021 he managed 15 goals in 27 games. While it was two years ago, this may still see other Pro League clubs in need of a striker come looking. With better service than he was offered at Eupen, he may be able to rediscover the form he had previously shown.
