Manchester United-linked Frenkie de Jong has not changed his mind about not wanting to leave Barcelona this summer.

The complication of Barcelona not agreeing to a payoff with De Jong, coupled with his unwillingness to leave the Catalan giants, meant he stayed at the Nou Camp.

Manchester United have reportedly made a tentative approach to Barcelona to discuss a potential deal to sign him this summer.

However, according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, the Premier League giants are facing the same challenge of convincing the midfielder to pack his bags.

De Jong is still keen to continue his career at Barcelona despite the renewed interest from Manchester United.

He feels happy and settled in Catalunya and does not want to leave the Catalan giants at this stage of his career.

Manchester United are yet to hold any concrete talks over a deal but could face the same disappointment two years later if they try to proceed with the negotiations.
