Paris Saint-Germain will have two representatives for the Kopa Trophy this year as João Neves and Warren Zaïre-Emery are among the nominees for the award.

Neves played last season with SL Benfica, bursting onto the season as one of the next young midfielders in European football. The teenager made 55 appearances for the Portuguese side, scoring three goals and registering two assists.

Moreover, the player was named to the Portuguese side that competed at UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany, so his nomination shouldn’t be a surprise. Now, the issue with Neves’ nomination is the lack of trophies, which could be what goes against him.

On the other side, Zaïre-Emery made 43 appearances last season for the Parisians, scoring three goals and registering seven assists. The 18-year-old also made the French national team for UEFA Euro 2024, but didn’t feature in any matches.

His lack of an international title, whether at the club or national team level, could also work against him. Here’s the entire list of nominees for the Kopa Trophy:

Pau Cubarsi (Barcelona)

Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United)

Arda Guler (Real Madrid)

Karim Konate (Red Bull Salzburg)

Kobbie Mainoo (Manchester United)

Joao Neves (PSG)

Savinho (Manchester City)

Mathys Tel (Bayern Munich)

Lamine Yamal (Barcelona)

Warren Zaire-Emery (PSG)
